Mechanical Engineer

Hummingbird Scientific is a growing company looking for a talented engineer to join our group. You'll work closely with our engineering staff and clients in academia and industry to develop next-generation tools for electron and ion microscopy.

A strong candidate will have the following skills and experience. We understand that some of this stuff is probably going to be missing and, for the right person, we’re willing to train you.:

---3+ years experience, B.S. or M.S. in engineering or physics
---Strong skills in 3-D CAD (prefer Solidworks but we’re flexible)
---Background in designing high precision mechanisms.
---Experience designing devices for vacuum systems
---Familiarity with FEA for mechanical and thermal analyses
---Experience working with fabricators (machinists, welders, etc.)
---Experience working with scientists in academia and industry
---Project management experience, particularly of multiple small projects
---Experience with GD&T
---Mechatronics skills (electronics, software) are always a plus

We're particularly interested in people who can take a "big-picture" view, identifying problems and taking a detailed and thorough approach to building solutions.
