Norman Salmon, President

With more than a decade of experience as an entrepreneur in high-tech manufacturing and materials development, Norman is a respected expert who has spoken on precision manufacturing to groups around the world. He has consulted for more than 50 organizations including government agencies; medical manufacturing companies; precision machine tool builders; and manufacturers of toys, footwear, jet engines, and precision tooling.

Before founding Hummingbird, Norman served as program manager of design and fabrication at the University of California's Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, focusing on precision mesoscale manufacturing and instrumentation for electron microscopes. In previous jobs, he has been responsible for winning numerous SBIR (phase I and II) and ATP awards.
