Hummingbird Scientific is a leading developer of sample holders for electron and ion microscopy. Founded in 2004, Hummingbird's Principals got their start at the US Department of Energy's National Center for Electron Microscopy at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

World leading science requires world leading instrumentation. Hummingbird Scientific's strength is in helping customers advance their science by translating innovative ideas into user-friendly tools. Working both alone and in collaboration with our customers, we have created more than a dozen new electron microscopy experimental platform designs, each of which has been developed into commercial products.

Hummingbird is a vertically integrated company, with world-leading engineering and fabrication capabilities in-house. We exploit multiple sources to develop our innovative products, and have been awarded several million dollars in government funding to help develop new in-situ electron and ion microscopy techniques that enable scientists to do their best work.
