Hummingbird receives Macres Award

Daan Hein Alsem, Director of Research at Hummingbird Scientific received the Macres Award from the Microanalysis Society for the Best Instrumentation/Software Paper to be presented at the 2018 Microscopy and Microanalysis conference for his presentation, “Using Scanning Transmission X-ray Microscopy to Reveal the Origin of Lithium Compositional Spatiodynamics in Battery Materials.” This work was performed in collaboration with Prof. Will Chueh group at Stanford University.

The Macres Award reinforces Hummingbird Scientific’s role in X-ray liquid electrochemistry and operando microscopy workflows for battery materials. The recognized collaboration with the Chueh group connects Hummingbird’s in-situ liquid-electrochemistry platform development to high-value energy-storage research and multimodal microscopy.
